Derral L. Power, 68, of Coggon, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at the United Parish Church in Coggon. Conducted by: Pastor Stephen Bush. Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Coggon Cemetery with Military Honors by Coggon Legion Post # 362.

Survivors include his daughter, Gina (Alex) Rogers; sisters, Donna (Truman) Hanson, Colleen Kula, Marlene (Joe) Nagel; and brother, Don (Pat) Power.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Beulah; wife, Sherry; and his brother Virgil Power.

Derral was born on July 31, 1947 to Lauren “Ike” and Beulah (Hagerman) Power near Central City, Iowa. After graduating he then served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Derral then married Sherry O’Hara on September 14, 1974. He was employed at Iowa Manufacturing, City of Coggon and then later at Mt. Mercy University.
