James D. Aiken, 816 Eighth ave., SE, Cedar Rapids resident 50 years, died Sunday. Born Jan. 1, 1876 in Georgia, he was married to Lulu Harmon in December, 1949, in Cedar Rapids.
Surviving are his wife, a stepdaughter, Helen Brown of Cedar Rapids, 2 stepsons, Forest Martin of and Thomas B. Gardener of Columbus, Ohio; and 2 sisters.
Mr. Aiken was a member of Bethel AME church and had served as steward for many years. He was also a member of Knights of Pythias.
Services: Bethel AME church at 1:30 Wednesday by the Rev. John I. Thomas. Burial: Oak Hill. Friends may call at the Turner chapel from 1 Tuesday until 10 Wednesday.
