Patrick Hogan, 64, retired railroad carpenter, died Tuesday at 4:45 a.m. at the family residence, 201 Thirteenth street, after a long illness. Born March 18, 1875, at Limerick, Ireland, the son of William and Margaret Lynch Hogan, he came to the United States in 1905, living in Chicago until he moved to Marion in 1912. He was married here Jan. 8, 1921, to Lottie Summers Kerns, who survives. He retired from the railroad service in 1929 because of ill health. He leaves seven children, Mrs. Deborah Nestetril, Mrs. Margaret Oakley, Robert, Catherine, William, Jack and Dennis Hogan, all of Marion; three grandchildren, Harry D. Oakley and Margaret and Freda Nesetril; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Franklin and Mrs. Delia Noonan of Chicago. Mr. Hogan was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Yocom chapel in charge of the Rev. L.W. Inman, pastor of the Baptist church, and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
