Lori is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Raim; brother, Scott Raim; brother-in-law, Larry Hartzell; her previous husbands, Robert Doubek and Jim Jensen; and her beloved grandparents and aunts.
Lori was born on October 18, 1954, the daughter of Ernest Louis and Shirley Ann (Rotter) Raim in Cedar Rapids, IA. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1972 and received her Associates from Kirkwood in 1974. Lori was an extremely hard worker; she was employed at Amana Refrigeration and in the banking industry. She also maintained her own business, LJJ Wallcoverings prior to her retirement in 2018.
Lori’s family was of the utmost importance to her and she adored her role as grandma. She was the glue that held the family together and it was always her goal to provide a welcoming home. Lori was an avid reader; she also enjoyed doing cross stitch and jigsaw puzzles. Her family describes her as being incredibly intelligent with a knack for cooking amazing meals. She was known for telling it like it is but also with the most amazing amount of love in her heart. Lori never missed the opportunity to tell someone “I love you.” Her empathy and compassion touched the lives of many and she was able to help her community by donating over 10 gallons of blood. Her final wishes were to be an organ and tissue donor to help others even after she was gone.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Sedlacek Chemical Dependency Center; 5975 Rockwell Dr. NE in Cedar Rapids; or a blood donation given in her memory
Lori always went out of her way to make everyone welcome and comfortable; please feel free to dress comfortably for her services.
