Joseph Scott Drips, youngest child of George and Mary Dunn Drips, was born Oct. 1, 1875, in Linn township, Linn county, Iowa, where he spent his entire life.

March 20, 1901 he was married to Frances Hempy, who preceded him in death in January, 1942.

He died at his home Dec. 2, 1943, at the age of 68 years.

Surviving are two sons, George and Lynn, Springville, one granddaughter, Ruth Elaine, one brother, Walter, Marion, and one sister, Mrs. Olive Ilgengritz, Martelle.
