—C. J. Winn, while working about a new house in Cedar Rapids, last Friday, was struck on the head by a board that was thrown from the roof. The board crushed his skull and caused instant death.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born April 20, 1833 and died March 11, 1899. He is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery.
