A WILLFUL MURDER.--Last Thursday witnessed at terrible tragedy near Troy Mills. Dr. Park R. Kibbee, formerly an employe of Rudolph Adams of this city, and who afterward studied medicine with Dr. Ristine, was fatally injured from the effect of a blow with a spade in the hands of a farm employe of his father. The doctor has recently been living with his father on the farm near the mills. It seems that the elder Kibbee has had frequent altercations with his farm hand, and on this occasion, he sent his son out to the field where the hired man was raking hay with instructions to get the horse. The man (Oliver) told him he could not have it when Dr. Kibbee stepped up and began to unhitch the horse. Oliver picked up a spade and struck Kibbee on the head knocking him down. Dr. Ristine of this city was called but could do the sufferer no permanent good. He remained in an insensible condition until the time of his death on Sabbath evening. The murderer, as soon as he had delivered the fatal blow, tried to escape but was afterward arrested and taken to Marion by the deputy sheriff. Dr. Kibbee was regarded as a perfect gentleman and respected by all who knew him. The funeral services were held in Marion Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The remains were buried in the city cemetery.
