Elsie Mae Deason, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 23, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty by Pastor Nick Grove.

Elsie is survived by her son, Mark (Paula) Deason and daughter, Debbie Deason all of Cedar Rapids; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Gary) Oaks of Missouri, Joni Gage and Eddie Forde both of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents and many brothers and sisters.

Elsie was born on November 7, 1948 in North Liberty, the daughter of Glen and Ellen Schminke Beltz.

Elsie loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs, working in her yard and wind chimes.
