Mrs. Charles Hedges, 72, mother of Mrs. V. R. Gough, died July 25 following a sudden illness. Her husband is one of Mt. Vernon's leading businessmen and a long-time trustee of Cornell College.

Born Nov. 12, 1889, at Madrid, she was graduated from Cornell in 1913 and was married June 24, 1914, at Madrid. Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 daughters, Mrs. Gough of Tipton and Mrs. Donald Current of Burlington, and 6 grandchildren.

Services were held July 28 at the Methodist church in Mt. Vernon.
