The Marion Pilot Thursday April 10, 1902
Mrs. Isabella Robins was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, Oct. 10, 1818. She was married to David [sic] Robins at Frankfort, Ohio, January 8, 1837. The came to Marion in 1845.
She joined the Methodist Episcopal church over sixty years ago, of which she has always been a loyal and faithful member.
Six children were given her, of whom only Rufus of Marion survives. Her husband died in 1883. Oct. 30, 1899 she found a pleasant and comfortable home with the Sisters of Mercy at the Sacred Heart Academy of this city, where she was watched over and cared for with unfailing solitude until her time of departure from this "vale of tears."
Last Christmas time she was quite sick but recovered somewhat. Two weeks ago she had a sever fall, which no doubt was the initial cause of her death. She was confined to her bed April 3, and lingered on until 9:05 p.m., April 7, when she slept "the sleep of the just." Sister Robins was a keen, energetic woman. She lover[sic] her Savior devotedly, and was always ready to give a reason for her hope to all that asked. With her weight of years, and crippled state she was found in the church on Easter Sabbath, a rapt worshiper of the "risen Lord." She never lost her confidence in Jesus Christ, and when unable to speak she nodded very empathically when asked if the Lord was with her, and if she trusted him. For her to live was Christ, and to die was gain.
The funeral was held from the M.E. church, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, and was conducted by Rev. N. Pye. Interment in Oak Shade cemetery.
