Chris Jensen Clarup, son of John Jensen and Karen Marie Clarup, who did recently, was born in Denmark, March 24, 1861. At the age of 24, he came to America and settled in Linn county, where he had made his home. Two of his older brother came to American before him. Mr. Clarup was a hard working farmer and efficient tiler, an occupation in which he was engaged formerly in Denmark. He was preceded in death by his wife and two infant daughters. One son Jens Clarup, survives him, also a sister, Miss Eline Jensen of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the Hunte funeral home Sunday afternoon by Rev. C.B. Willming, pastor of the Presbyterian church and burial made in the Crabapple cemetery.
