Edna Bosier 1927-2004

Edna Charlene Bosier, 76, loving mother and friend, courageously passed into the hands of the Lord the morning of June 13, 2004, following a long battle with cancer. Pastor Dan Clark-Bridges conducted a celebration of life service at Hope Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids Wednesday, June 16, 2004. Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Edna was born June 23, 1927, on the family homestead in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1944.

Edna came to Cedar Rapids in 1944 and married Robert "Bob" Bosier June 26, 1949. Edna was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids for over forty years. She was employed at Rockwell Collins for 32 years, from 1951 to 1983.

Edna enjoyed family events, painting, family photography, traveling, big band music, and dancing. Upon retiring Edna and Bob also enjoyed spending many winter vacationing in Florida. During their 49 years of marriage, Edna and Bob together raise eight children.

Survivors immediate family members include her children and their spouses are David and Sonya Bosier of Cedar Rapids, Darrell Bosier and Pam Bueoy of Center Point, Dwight Bosier of Florida, Darlene and Lynn Shreeves of Cedar Rapids, Roberta and Benjamin Bolt of Florida, Rebecca and David McVay of Cedar Rapids, and Darwin and Michelle Bosier of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Grace Sersland of Decorah, Nora Burgess of Marion, and Edith Schnoebelen of Cedar Rapids; 23 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Oscar William Monserud, her husband, Robert Bosier, and her brother, Wesley Monserud.

A memorial fund has been established.
