Meril Bessie Fleisher, 69, a lifelong resident of St. Louis, Mo. until coming to Marion in 1961, passed away in a Marion nursing home at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday, May 8. She was born the daughter of Wm. R. and Lotta Early Peters, Nov. 7, 1892 at St. Louis. On May 4, 1944 she was married to Al H. Fleisher at St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Fleisher was a partner in the Crystal Clearners at St. Louis for 23 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church of St. Louis.
Surviving in addition to her hsuband are a son, Wm. F. Griffin; three grandchildren, Michael Griffin, Cathy Griffin and Kevin Griffin, all of Crestwood, Mo.; and a sister, Leah Beyersdorfer, of Portland, Ore.
Requiem Mass will be conducted by Rev. William H. Blessington at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Marion. The Rosary will be recited by the Rosary Society at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Murdoch Chapel. Interment, Oak Shade Cemetery.
