John B. Finney, 78, of 1130 English blvd. died Friday at 4:25 p.m. in a Cedar Rapids hospital, after a long illness.
Mr. Finney was a former Marion photographer, and had been a real estate broker for over 25 years. Born April 25, 1876, at Leeds, England, he came to Marion in 1901. With the exception of several years residence in Cedar Rapids, Mr. Finney, has lived in Marion since that time.
He was married to Edith Bailey, in 1903, and she died in 1941. In 1944, Mr. Finney and Miss Hazel Ross of Marion, were married in the Little Brown Church at Nashua.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son, Bailey Finney, of Niceville, Fla. He was a member of the Methodist church, Mt. Herman Lodge No. 263, A.F. & A.M., and the El Kahir shrine. Memorial services were conducted in the Murdoch Chapel, by the Rev. James P. Gable, and members of the Mt. Herman Lodge No. 263 A.F. and A.M. Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
