Benjamin F. Kutz, aged 77, of Lisbon, retired farmer, died Saturday at an Iowa City hospital following a long illness. Born Sept. 5, 1858, in Northampton county, Pa., son of Elam and Elizabeth Kutz, he came to Iowa in 1879 and worked on farms near Lisbon. He was married in December, 1885, to Miss Carrie Munn at Clarence. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Jessie Reynolds, who died in 19?5, Fred E. of Anamosa and Harry, who was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Newman at the time of the mother's death. He was married to Miss Edna Drach in January, 1899, who died in 1918. He married Mrs. Ella Byers in April, 1919. Mr. Kutz was a member of the Evangelical church. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two brothers, John and Will of Plainsville, Mich., ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Phillip Brunn. Burial was in Lisbon cemetery.
