Mrs. Emma Gates, 63, died at her home, 1513 Twelfth avenue at 7:30 a.m. today following a brief illness. She was born in Ramapo, N.Y., Sept. 5, 1859 and had lived in this city a number of years. She is survived by one son, Horace S.; a grandson, Horace jr.; a sister, Miss Belle Akers and a brother, Charles W. Akers, all of this city. Funeral services will be held in the Beatty chapel at a time to be announced later. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
