John C. Etter, of Cedar Rapids died July 24 after a long illness. Born Jan. 6, 1885, in Scotland, Pa., he was a Cedar Rapids resident 18 years and an employe of Quaker Oats until his retirement. He had also farmed near Tipton.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Benish Etter, to whom he was married Feb. 24, 1946; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Rupe; a stepson, Richard Turner; 3 grandchildren, all of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Ruth Etter, and 2 brothers, Carl and Orville Etter, of Scotland, Pa.

Services were held July 26 in Cedar Rapids with the Rev. J. Richard Wagner officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery, Solon.
