The Marion Register Friday May 14, 1915
Louisa Jane, daughter of George and Lydia Jeffrey, was born near Massillon, Cedar county, Iowa, on the 28th of November, 1863. She grew to womanhood there and was united in marriage on the 28th of November in 1883 to Mr. Charles H. Kent. To their union there were born eight children, all of whom are living except Clifford Leroy, who died April 4th in 1902. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, and will be greatly missed in the family circle.
While a young woman she united with the Wesleyan Methodist church at Dayton Valley, of which church she was a member at the time of her death.
She came to Marion, with her family in March 1913, where they have made many friends.
As a result of an accident she came to her death at Oxford Junction, Iowa, on the eighth of May, 1915; after a life of 51 years, 5 months, and 10 days. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, seven children, Oscar, of Lewiston, Montana, Mrs. Blanche Leinbaugh, of Clarence, Iowa; Bessie, Inez, Almer, Raymond and Marshall, of Marion, Iowa. Also three brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren, and other relatives, besides many friends.
