George Livingstone, an old settler, Passes to the Eternal Beyond
After a somewhat protracted illness, George Livingstone died last night at his residence, Tenth Avenue and Second Street. He suffered from heart disease and complications and hopes of his recovery was abandoned several days ago by Physicians and relatives. Mr. Livingstone was an old resident of Cedar Rapids, having come to Linn County in 1854, residing here continuously since then. He is survived by his wife and four children residing in Iowa, who will mourn the death of a devoted husband and kind and indulgent father. He was an honest and respectable man and merited the esteem that was entertained for him by his acquaintances. There are two surviving brothers, Joseph and William, of Cedar Rapids, and a sisters whose home is in Mt. Vernon. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the family residence.
