SAMANTHA MAE VASKE
Cedar Rapids

Samantha Mae Vaske, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, left this world unexpectedly at the age of 25 on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Friends and family may visit and celebrate her life from
3 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8,
at Teahen Funeral Home, 3100 F Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, 52405. Funeral services will
be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at John XXIII Catholic Church, 8100 Roncalli Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, 52404 by the Rev. Dustin Vu. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery in Fairfax.
She leaves behind her parents, Tim and Jenny Vaske; sisters, Ali and Maddie Vaske; grandparents, Donna and Danny Vaske and Dave and Carol Johnson, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Timothy David Johnson; great-grandparents, Joe and Lois Hoeger, Wilford "Butch" Vaske, Joe and Milicent Johnson and Alphonse and Alberta Roling.
Sami spent most of her life in Walford and attended Prairie Community Schools. She then went to Coe College and completed her masters in music therapy at the University of Iowa.
Through her high school and college years Sami devoted her time to the work she did with the ARC. After college, she began working at Coe College Admissions helping to recruit students.
Sami was a lover of the arts. She loved to dance, paint, sing, sew, and most of all work in the wood room with her grandpa Dave. She was funny, outgoing and vivacious. We always will remember her beautiful smile and caring personality.
Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed. When you think of Sami, celebrate the good memories you have of her. She was a gift. As we remember that life is fragile and short, we continually strive to live every day to the fullest.
In lieu of flowers, the family is setting up a scholarship fund in Sami Vaske's memory to promote the love of music and the lives of the youth and young adults in our community.
Online condolences can be left at www.teahenfuneralhome.com.
