Emanuel G. Rushek, 78, a former resident of the Solon area, died Friday in Cedar Rapids after a heart attack. Mr. Rushek had farmed near Solon until retiring seven years ago and moving to Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Rushek was born near Solon Sept. 15, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rushek. He was married August 10, 1904, to the former Mary Krob.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Cambridge and Mrs. Charles Sonka, both of Cedar Rapids, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Cerny, also of Cedar Rapids. A son, Elmer, preceded him in death.

Services were held Tuesday. Burial was in Sts. Peter and Paul's church cemetery.
