Robert H. Sloan Dies; Was Retired Farmer
Robert H. Sloan, 67, retired farmer, died Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in University hospital, Iowa City, after a long illness. He had made his home in Marion with his sister, Mrs. Mae Carsner, 349 Sixteenth street.
Mr. Sloan was born in Belle Plaine Dec. 24, 1875, and he was a member of the Belle Plaine Presbyterian church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Walter Limbrecht, Clinton; six brothers, William, Minnesota; Thomas, Denver; Frank, Des Moines; James, Marion; John, Anamosa, and Benjamin Sloan, Victor; two sisters, Mrs. Carsner, Marion, and Mrs. Matilda Grossman, Cedar Falls.
Private services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Yocom chapel. The Rev. C.V.R. DeJong will officiate and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
