JACKSON WHITTLESEY
Funeral services were held for Jackson "Jack" Whittlesey, 56, a resident of Marion since 1963 and formerly of Marshalltown, Jan. 26 at Faith Lutheran Church in Marion.
The Rev. David Rebeck officiated. Interment was at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
He died Jan. 23 following a lengthy illness.
He was born the son of Cyrus and Gladys V. Jackson Wittlesey on Nov. 3, 1930 at Moorland, Iowa.
On Dec. 6, 1963 at Cedar Rapids, he was married to Ruth Junge Schmuecker.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a salesman for Grey Products Company for over a year and prior to that was owner and operator of C.R. Service Corporation for 16 years.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marion and past president of Indian Creek Country Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, [private]; three step-sons [private]; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Cy Whittlesey, Jr. of Garland, Texas, and Robert Whittlesey of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents....
