Henry W. Vahl, Former Marion Resident, Dies
Henry W. Vahl, 63, formerly of Marion, died in a Cedar Rapids hospital at 6:$0 p.m. Tuesday following a lingering illness. Born at Auburnett[sic] Aug. 18, 1879, he farmed in this vicinity until five years ago, when he went to Cedar Rapids to make his home with his son, Donald, of 402 Second street SW.
In addition to his son, Donald, he is survived by another son, William, and a daughter, Mrs. Harry Relder, both of Marion; two brothers, Louis C. and Harold A. Vahl, and a sister, Mrs. O.B. Martin, all of Marion, and three grandchildren.
The Rev. C.E. Krog will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Teahen chapel in Cedar Rapids, where friends may call Wednesday evening and after 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery, Marion.
