Willard C. Stuckslager, age 61, Lisbon banker, former legislator and member of the state board of education, dropped dead Monday night in Chicago, while visiting in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lanning McFarland.

Mr. Stuckslager had been suffering from an attack of influenza, but was believed to be making a good recovery. He had planned to go to Des Moines the following day to attend the state legislature's hearing of charges in the administration of affairs at the State University of Iowa.

Mr. Stuckslager had been a member of the board of trustees of Cornell college at Mount Vernon for twenty-two years. The past fourteen years he has been a member of the board's executive committee. Long had he been a prominent banker of eastern Iowa. He served in the state house of representatives in the 28th and 29th Gen. Assemblies, and in 1903 was elected to the state senate, and held office during the 30th, 31st, 32nd, 33rd and 34th sessions.

Mr. Stuckslager was president of the Stuckslager-Auracher bank which was founded in Lisbon by his father in 1874, and was also head of the Mt. Vernon bank.

Funeral services will be held at the Lisbon M.E. church, Friday afternoon at two-thirty o'clock.
