MRS. TEEPLE DEAD
RESIDENT OF IOWA FOR SIXTY-EIGHT YEARS, DIED OF OLD AGE.
MOTHER OF MRS. J.T. ROCG [sic]
Member of Universalist Church--Funeral Service at Home of Daughter Wednesday.
Mrs. Nancy Teeple, a resident of the state of Iowa for sixty-eight years and of Waterloo for the past eleven years, died of old age and complications Monday morning at 5:45 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Rock, 310 Wellington street. Mrs. Teeple had been in failing health for several weeks.
Mrs. Teeple was born May 9, 1830, at Mayville, Kentucky, being past seventy-five years of age at the time of her death. When a child she came with her parents to Iowa, living at different times in Nashville and Marion. She was a resident of the city of Davenport when that town was a village. She was united in marriage to John D. Teeple, May 24, 1847. To the union fourteen children were born, eleven of whom have passed away. The nearest relatives who survive are the following named children--Mrs. John T. Rock, Waterloo; S.R. Teeple, Marshalltown; S.A. Teeple, Cedar Rapids. The husband, John D. Teeple, died five years ago.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home, 310 Wellington street. Mrs. Teeple was a member of the Universalist church. She was a singularly lovable woman, and had made many friends during her residence in the city.
