Oliver O. Mudgett Died Thursday In SUI Hospital
Oliver O. Mudgett, 78, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Thursday at the SUI hospital in Iowa City following a long illness.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1876 at Low Moor, the son of George and Mary Jane Walbridge Mudgett.
He came to Marion fifty years ago and was employed as a switchman for the railroad. He was married at Marion on July 30, 1907 to Miss Anna Harper. She passed away on March 27, 1912 at Marion.
Mr. Mudgett is survived by a sister, Mrs. Henry (Nettie) Smith of Marion. A brother, Frank Mudgett passed away in 1907.
Memorial services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Murdoch Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Moore. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
