THE LATE MRS. MAY THOMPSON.
Miss Almita Harper was born Feb. 2, 1866 in Jones County, Iowa, and died September 4, 1910, at the home of her sister, Mrs. O.O. Mudgett. When about eight years of age, she, with her parents, moved near Big Rock, Iowa. In 1887 she was married to James M. Thompson at Tipton, Iowa. Soon after they came to Cedar Rapids. In 1898, she, with her husband, moved to Chicago and for several years they resided there. About three years ago they moved to Tipton and lived there until Feb. 4, 1910. She then came to Marion, where she made her home with her sister until her death.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her aged parents in Canada, three sisters: Mrs. Caroline Sherman, of Wheatland, Iowa; Mrs. Sophina [sic] Morrison, of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. O.O. Mudgett, of this city and two brothers, Joseph Harper, of Omaha, Nebraska, and John Harper, of Enderlin, N. Dak., and two sons, Lea, of Tipton, Iowa, and Clyde of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
The funeral services were held at the house, conducted by Rev. S.R. Beatty and was attended by a large company of sympathizing friends. Interment in Oak Shade Cemetery.
