BRIEF SKETCH.
The following is a brief sketch of the life of Mrs. Susie Lake Elliott. She was born at Mansfield, Ohio, January 1, 1846, and died at Marion, Iowa, April 18, 1918. With her parents she moved to Iowa City, Iowa, whence she came with them to Marion when she was 14 years of age. Susie Lavenia Lake was married January 25, 1865, to Milton L. Elliott and in 1895 they moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., going from there to London in 1909. Mr. Elliott died in London in 1910. The widow returned to Marion in January, 1914, and resided here from then until the time of her death. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Elliott, four having died in infancy, and Maude having died at the age of 24. The son and his wife came from their home in Boston to attend the funeral, which was held at the Carl N. Owen home in Marion Monday afternoon, April 22. The services were conducted by Rev. M. Barrett of the Great Lakes naval training station, assisted by Rev. Jas. W. Lee.
