Services Held for Mrs. Mary Sutton
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Sutton, 82, who died at her home in Ottumwa Monday, were held Wednesday at two o'clock from the Yocom chapel, Marion, with the Rev. Arthur W. Henke, pastor of the Methodist church in charge.
Mrs. Sutton was born in Marion December 17, 1857, the daughter of James G. and Ann Moles Ross, and was married in 1884 at Clinton to Edward B. Sutton. They made their home in Marion where the husband was a Milwaukee passenfer[sic] conductor, but when the shops were moved, he moved to Ottumwa and died there in 1929. Mrs. Sutton belonged to the Methodsit church and the Pythian Sisters. She is survived by one son, Harry E. Sutton, of Ottumwa, by two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ross Carpenter of Marion, and Mrs. Ida Ross Smith of Silvis, Ill., and one brother, William Ross, of Marion. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery here.
