Mrs. George A. Davis, nee Anna Scales, born in County Caven, Ireland, September 22d, 1822, died March 12th, 1896, aged 73 years, 5 months and 20 days. When yet a child she came with her parents to Canada. Came to Iowa in 1855, since which time this has been her home the principal part of the time She was married some 8 years ago to Mr. George Davis who preceded her to the final rest 7 months only, Mrs. Davis has four brothers living, one of whom is here to day. She has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for some 50 years, and has ever been a good christian character and has gone to her reward to be numbered with God's faithful. Services were held at the home of Mrs. Rush, conducted by Rev. J.W. Geiger.
