Joseph Svacha, a promient Bohemian resident of Cedar Rapids, died at his home near McLeod Springs at 7:10 p.m. yesterday following a long illness. He was 59 yeas old, and came to this country from Bohemia when 16 years old, settling in Cedar Rapids where he had lived ever since.
He is survived by an aged mother, his wife, three sons and four daughters, Frank, Joseph and Charles, Mrs. J. Hartman, Mrs. C.J. Privatsky, all living here and Mrs. M. Marinello and Mrs. M. Kelley of Chicago. He was a member of Prokop Volky No. 46 of C.S.P.S. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m in the C.S.P.S. hall, conducted by J.J. Hajek. Buial will be in Bohemian National cemetery.
