John A. Rankin, died at 6 a.m. today at his home 403 Eighth avenue west, following a long illness. He was a street car conductor employed by the Cedar Rapids and Marion City railway for seven years and previously to that lived in Cherokee, Iowa. He had been ill nearly a year. Mr. Rankin was a member of the Woodman lodge at Cherokee, and Ben Hur lodge, No. 12 of Cedar Rapids. Surviving him are his wife and six children, Mrs. John Molyneux, Cherokee; Clarence A. of Fort Dodge; Howard, Foster and Raymond, all of Cedar Rapids. A brother W.A. Rankin lives in Lincoln, Neb., and a sister, Mrs. Allen Walker resides in Kidder, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The body will be taken to Cherokee for burial.
