Edward Brejcha, 79, died at his home, 1931 Hamilton street SW, at 10 p.m. Monday. Born in Czechoslovakia, Dec. 4, 1876, he came to Cedar Rapids in June of 1906. He was employed in the car repair department of the North Western and the Rock Island railroads a number of years prior to his retirement in 1946.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Frank W. Stepanek of route 2, Mt. Vernon; Mrs. R.S. Winchell of Cedar Rapids and Miss Ann Brejcha of Chicago; four grandchildren, nine great-granchildren, and a brother, Anton, in Czechoslavakia. His wife, Marie, died Dec. 22, 1952.
Mr. Brejcha was a member of Lodge Karel IV ZCBJ, the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America and the Matice Skolska.
Services will be conducted in the Janeba funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday by Theodore B. Hlubucek. Burial will be in the Czech National cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
