Marion Farmer Died Suddenly Last Friday
Ellis A. Farnsworth died suddenly at the farm of his neighbor Friday morning, from a heart attack.
Mr. Farnsworth had been keeping two cows in the barn of his neighbor, Harold Weaver. When he went to care for them Friday he complained to Mr. Weaver of pains in his chest. Mr. Farnsworth died while his neighbor went to the house to telephone Mrs. Farnsworth. Coroner R. A. Vorpahl said death was due to a heart attack, and no inquest was held.
Ellis Farnsworth, the son of Albert and Melinda Farnsworth, was born at Mentor, Ohio, May 3, 1871. At the age of 17 he came to Iowa. He was married to Alice York at Cedar Rapids, where the family first lived. Later they spent twelve years in Ohio, later returning to this country. For years they have farmed in this community, living five and one-half miles east of Marion. Mr. and Mrs. Farnsworth were the parents of two children, Byron N., who died at the age of two, and a daughter, Mrs. E.W. Tucker of Cedar Rapids. He is survived by his wife, his daughter and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, at the Yocom chapel in charge of the Rev. [can't read the rest]
