Edward Dougherty Was Buried Here
The body of Edward J. Daugherty[sic] was laid to rest in Oak Shade cemetery at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, with military honors. Services were at the grave, in charge of Dr. W.E. Fisher, pastor of the Marion Presbyterian church assisted by Marion Post No. 298, American Legion.
Dr. Daugherty died in Kansas City, Mo. at 6:45 Tuesday morning. The son of Leonard and Mary Daugherty, he was born and raised in Marion,leaving here about forty years ago. He served thruout[sic] the Spanish American war, and was engaged in later years in river control work, in which he gained a high degree of efficiency. He had never married. He was 62 years old.
Surviving are two sisters, Miss Sadie Daugherty, of Minneapolis, and Mrs. W.R. Harris, of Missoula, Mont., besides other more distant relatives and many friends.
