The Marion Weekly Register Thursday November 17, 1870
OBITUARY.
Mrs. H.B. White, wife of W.G. White, was born Nov. 29, 1830, in Towanda, Brandford Co., Pa. Moved to Marion, Iowa, four years ago, where she died at her residence, Set., 17th[sic], 1870. She was converted in 1858, and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church. In her home, in the social circle, and in the Church, her life was pure and beautiful, and in her dying hours, her faith was clear and unwavering in Jesus as her Savior. During her illness she talked calmly of death, and when she came down to the margin of the river, she took an affectionate leave of her husband and daughter who mourn their loss, not as those who have no hope.
"There is a voice by sorrow hear,
When heaviest weighs life's galling chain,
That voice is the Almighty's word--
The pure in heart shall meet again."
F.X. MILLER
