Eugene Holmes died at his home in Cedar Rapids Friday after a lingering illness of several months. He is survived by a wife, mother and three brothers. His mother Mrs. Eliza Holmes and brother Frank are both residents of this city. His other brothers are Harry of Decorah and George of Chicago. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery in this city Saturday and services were held at the grave being conducted by Rev. J.J. Janes, pastor of the Congregational church. The deceased was a painter by trade and previous to his illness was in the Republican Printing Company.
