The Marion Register of Marion, Iowa Wednesday January 29, 1896
The sad and unexpected news was received in Marion Monday of the death of Mr. H.T. Milliken at this home in Chicago. Mr. M. spent about fifteen years in Marion as the agent of the C.M. and St. Paul railroad company and for several years has been the company's agent in Chicago. He will be buried this afternoon at his boyhood home, Dacatah[sic], Illinois. His wife and three daughters survive him. They still own their 8th avenue Marion home and the family spent the greater part of last summer here enjoying the society of old time friends. Mr. Milliken and family were great favorites here and sympathy for the surviving members is universal.
