Jay Hart Watts Dies in Missouri
Jay Hart Watts, who lived at 368 Nineteenth st. SE, before moving to Neosha, Mo., 2 years ago, died there Friday. Born March 15, 1885, in Cedar Rapids he was baggage agent and station master for the Rock Island and North Western railroads for many years before his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Emma May; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Wright of Neosha, and 2 grandchildren. Mr. Watts was a member of the Spanish-American War Veterans and was Iowa department commander in 1946. He also was commander of Dows camp.
Services: Turner chapel at 1:30 Tuesday by the Rev. Theodore A. Youngquist of First Lutheran church. Burial: Cedar Memorial where the Spanish American war veteran will conduct military service. Friends may call at the chapel after 1 p.m. Monday.
