Harley Erwin Rites In Marion Monday
Services for Harley W. Erwin, 77, who died at St. Luke's Hospital last Friday were held in the Yocom Chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. C.V.R. De Jong Officiating.
A lifelong resident of Marion and vicinity, he was born Dec. 4, 1870, on a farm three miles northeast of here, the son of William G. and Emily Wallace Erwin.
He was married at Marion on Nov. 7, 1899, to Margaret Winsor, who survives. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church and for many years had served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a charter member of the Concord Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Scott of Marion, a son, William W. Erwin of Milford, N.J. a sister, Mrs. Jeannette Weatherly of Long Beach, Calif., preceded him in death.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Vernon Lent, Andrew Kershner, Stewart Hawk, Clyde Scott, Irvin Ford and Hugh Gordon. Burial was in the Oak Shade Cemetery.
