LAWSON F. GLEASON DEAD.--One by one the pioneers of our city are passing to their final reward. On Saturday morning, Lawson F. Gleason died, at his home 508 First Avenue. For some time he had been ill, and his death was not a surprise to his family and intimate friends. Mr. Gleason was a native of Salem, New York, born in 1820, hence, was 67 at date of death. When young he came west and for a number of years has been an esteemed and highly respected resident; plain, unassuming, but thoroughly reliable, and for that and many other good qualities was he respected by a large number of friends an[d] acquaintances who will deplore his death and heartily sympathise[sic] with his relatives.
