PASSED AWAY AT HER HOME OF 859 FIFTH AVENUE AT 5:30 MONDAY MORNING

Mrs. Anna Cook Thompson of 859 Fifth avenue, east, passed away at her home, this morning at 5:30, after a short illness.
The deceased was born May 10, 1838, in Hammond, N.Y., but moved with her parents to Lake county, Ill., later where she was married to William D. Whitmore in 1858. She then came to Iowa in the spring of 1873 following the death of her husband and later married Andrew W. Thompson of this city. She is one of the first comers in this part of the country and was very well know among the earlier settlers. She is survived by her husband, a son from the first marriage, A.J. Whitmore of Topeka, Kan., a daughter from the second marriage, Mrs. H.B. Henting of this city, and a brother, H.M. Barnes of this city.
The funeral will be held Wednesday from the house. Rev. Joseph F. Newton officiating and interment will be made at Oak Hill.
