Mrs. M. Carrie Wightman of Lincoln, Neb., Buried Tuesday
Funeral services for the late Mrs. M. Carrie Wightman, whose death occurred at her home in Lincoln, Neb., was held Tuesday afternoon from the Pingrey chapel. The services were conducted by Rev. A.B. Bock of the Christian church and the interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
M. Carrie Lucore was born near Marion, May 29, 1840. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus H. and Sarah Lucore and was married at Marion, Jan. 1, 1861, to Wilson Wightman, who was buried here four years ago.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Wightman were in educational work which took them to several states, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Montana, Missouri and West Virginia, where they lived at various times. She became a member of the Christian church early in life.
Of three children born to her, Albert LeRoy died at the age of 11, Bessie Marion Tuckerman of Wheeling, W. Va., and William W. Wightman of Buffalo survive their mother. There are also two grandchildren, G.W. Wightman of Albany, N.Y., and two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Joanna Wightman of Perry; Mrs. W.W. Scott of Marion, and two brothers, Hurlburt R. Lucore of San Diego, Cal., and Joseph E. Lucore of Ripley, N.Y.
