The Marion Sentinel Thursday January 18, 1912
--The death of Dee T. Harris son of Mr. and Mrs. James Harris, occured[sic] last Thursday evening, Jan. 11, at the home of Mrs. Florence McAfee, aunt of the deceased, after an illness of several years of locomotor ataxia and paralysis. The deceased was born in Marion on Jan. 27, 1876, hence was almost 36 year old at the time of his death. He was an exemplary young man, and was popular with all who knew him. For several years he was employed as engineer on the Milwaukee road. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at Mrs. McAfee's home, conducted by Rev. G.A. McKinley, pastor of the Congregational church. A male quartet furnished the music; and members of the Mentzer Hose Company, of which the deceased was a member, acted as pall bearers.
