Mrs. Geo. A. Kindler, Long a Resident of This City, Passes

Death came to Mrs. George A. Kindler, sr., 635 Fourth avenue, at a Cedar Rapids hospital Sunday evening, following an illness of nearly a year.
She was born Emma Wright, the daughter of George J. and Melissa Ann Wright on May 18, 1858 at Kenwood Park, and her entire life was centered in Linn county. She was married at Savanna to George Kindler OCtober 18, 1879, and they came to Marion and built the home where they lived happily together for more than half a century. Mr. Kindler died in 1934. He was a veteran employee of the Milwaukee railroad.
She is survived by a son, George A. Kindler, jr., by a daughter, Mrs. John Straubinger, two granddaughters, one of whom, Mrs. Richard Marsh, has made a home for her the past four years, and by two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kindler was a member of the Milwaukee Womans club, Royal Neighbors, the Womans Relief corps, in which she was a devoted member. In early life she joined the Methodist church, and was a faithful worker in the Comforter division of the aid. She had a large circle of devoted friends and was a good neighbor.
Funeral services were held at the Yocom chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. E.T. Gough of the M.E. church in charge. The pallbearers were Leslie Phelps, Harley Breed, Clyde Martin and Martin Izer.
Those here from out-of-town for the funeral were Mrs. Chas. Marsh, Mrs. W.L. Wolfe, Mrs. Aaron Delbridge, Mrs. D. Brown and Mrs. Ed Zurka.
