The Marion Register Tuesday December 5, 1911
LYDIA T. BULLOCK.
Miss Lydia T. Moore was born near Richmond, Indiana, June 9th, 1824 and died at Marion, Iowa, November 30th, 1911.
She was married to John T. Martion[sic] and with him came to Iowa in 1844 and settled on a farm north west of Marion where she cared for her family amid the trials of Pioneer life on Iowa's wild prairie, she was the mother by this union of a number of children, only three of whom survive her, D.W. Martin of Burkley, Washington, B.L. Martin of Chelan, Washington and Mrs. Mattie Rowley of Batersfield[sic], California, Mr. John Martin of Linn County, Iowa, havind died only a few months ago.
She was left a widow and in later years was married to Johnathan Bullock and to them was born a daughter, Mary Etta, who died at the age of nine years.
Mrs. Bullock was brought up in the Quaker faith, to which she clung through life. She was a woman devoted to her home and family, and paid but little attention to worldly pleasures, a faithful mother, a loving wife. A pure minded, noble woman has gone from our midst.
The funeral services were conducted by Elder W.C. Thompson at the Free Methodist church, at 11 a.m., December 3d, 1911, and her body laid to rest in Oak Shade cemetery.
