Mrs. Adolph Johnson Dies in Minneapolis
Hulda Johnson, 91, widow of Adolph Johnson and for many years a Marion resident, died Wednesday night in Minneapolis, where she had been living with her son, Alfred N. Johnson, the last year.
Born May 20, 1861, in Sweden, she was married in that country. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson came to the United States on Jan. 1, 1889. They lived on a farm near Bertram, owned by her father, John Polander, until 1891 and then moved to Marion. Mr. Johnson was killed in 1915 while working for the Milwaukee railroad.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Marion Methodist church. Surviving are two other sons, John S., of Marion and Carl August, of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Esther M. Johnson of Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. James P. Gable. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 1 p.m. Friday.
