F.M. Crispen, 67, Died Early Friday
Following a short illness, death came Friday morning at 6:45 o'clock at a Cedar Rapids hospital to Francis Marion Crispen, a lifelong resident of Linn county and a former Marionite. He was born August 18, 1872 at Center Point to John and Lucy Barter Crispen, and was married in Marion to Florence Jellison, who died in Cedar Rapids October 24, 1923. One son, Barter D., died in 1918. One brother and three sisters survive, Alfred Crispen and Mrs. Geneva Moore of St. Louis, Mrs. Etta Mackeson of Los Angeles, and Mrs. S. Deffman of Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Crispen was a farmer in earlier years and also followed the plasterer's trade. In his later years he lived in Cedar Rapids. He belonged to the Catholic church.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at ten o'clock from the Yocom chapel, the service in charge of the Rev. Father J.D. Kearn of St. Matthews church, Cedar Rapids. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
