The Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Thursday October 24, 1918
James Van Norman, age 25, died at a local hospital at 11 p.m. Wednesday following an illness due to influenza. He is survived by his mother, wife Mamie, and infant son, all of whom live at the family home, 1002 Ninth avenue. The mother is reported as seriously ill with the influenza.
